    Brotee – Samatot, a nationwide network

    Brotee has formed a nationwide network ‘Brotee–Samatot’ with other local organizations to broaden social movement and develop private business capacity and a motivated team that understands and owns the basic principles of the organization and its long-term objectives. It has multipurpose vision to improve livelihood of the poor as well as build up a marketing channel to distribute products of the villagers. Brotee thus is widening its scope and bringing in more and more organizations within its network. It has nearly 355 grassroots member organizations at present.

    The operational strategy is based on the principles and assertions that determine the conceptual framework. The operational strategy is to merge business with social change.

    Main features of Samatot network:

    • Brotee heads the country-wide Samatot network with a team leader and national coordinator
    • Covers all the districts of Bangladesh
    • Samatot network has 16 regions each headed by a regional focal point
    • All the 64 districts have district focal points
    • Reaches all Upazillas (Sub districts) and Unions
    • 25% of the network are headed by women
    • Grass root dispersal capacity of all member organizations

    Objectives of Brotee - Samatot:  

    • To implement nationwide activities such as survey & data collection, advocacy & campaign, research, social marketing, etc.
    • To strengthen and diversify business components
    • To explore investment partnerships in villages
    • To build capacity of village producers
    • To improve product quality and explore new markets
    • To establish Brotee-Samatot as information centers and share experience with network members
    • To initiate capital formation at village level
    • Distribution of products through chain marketing  
    • Human resource development
